Today is National Clean Beauty Day, and we’re celebrating by bringing you some of the best clean beauty products available. Did you know that your skin is the body’s largest organ and it absorbs up to 60% of what you put on it? Knowing that little fact should make you think twice about the types of products you’re using. So what exactly is clean beauty? In a nutshell, clean beauty products use clean ingredients (meaning non-toxic) and transparent labels (meaning the brand makes an effort to list all product ingredients and label accordingly). A clean beauty product avoids the use of harmful ingredients like parabens, sulfates, silicones, phthalates, and synthetic fragrances. A product doesn’t have to be “organic,” “all-natural,” or “eco” to be considered clean – focus on using products that are formulated without toxic ingredients. It can be confusing, and definitely overwhelming, but we’ve rounded up a great list of clean beauty products so you have somewhere to start.
