If you’re looking to plan an epic bachelorette party, why not an adults-only trip to Disney?? Kristy celebrated her sister-in-law’s upcoming nuptials with a weekend in the happiest place on Earth and had a blast! She recommends going without kids to Disney at least once in your life, because the experience is so different when you don’t have to worry about the little ones.

Make sure you grab matching magical tees, fun coordinating mouse ears, and, if you really want to get crazy, princess-themed outfits for going out at night!! We all know the bride is royalty, so what better occasion to show off your queenship.

After all of that celebrating, you’re probably going to want a little help recovery. These bachelorette party survival kits make the perfect gift for all the gals! Your bride and bridal party will be as good as new in no time with these essentials.

For a bridal shower, you’re going to want to gift something practical but something the bride wouldn’t necessarily buy for herself. How about this: a mini wine fridge with a customized wine subscription! Who wouldn’t want delicious wines delivered right to their door, especially with all that stress of wedding planning?! Don’t forget your “Miss to Mrs.” banner in case anyone forgot who all those gifts are for.

A “bride” silk robe is a must. Whether she wants to wear it on her wedding day or lounging around her house while she dreams of being the future Mrs., this is one bridal tradition you don’t want to forgo.

Games are a bridal shower must! This ring game is a fun way to get everyone involved and share a few laughs over some healthy competition.

These party favors are perfect for your bridal shower guests! Kiss the miss goodbye with Hershey’s Kisses and champagne lip balm. Pucker up!!

Valentine’s Day is quickly making its way upon on, and while we love love, this can also be a difficult day for some. Maybe you’re going through a tough time, maybe you’re single but wishing you were in a loving partnership, or maybe you just haven’t had enough time to celebrate YOU. Whatever your status, this is a great opportunity to take step back and practice a little self-love. See our ideas below.

Take a Bath

a romantic setting in the bathroom
Frugal and Thriving may earn a small commission via affiliate links in this post. See full disclosure here.

Is there anything that embodies self-care more than taking a luxurious bubble bath? Candles lit, glass of wine (or tea) in hand, bubbles flowing over the sides of the tub, your favorite music playing softly in the background. Maybe you want to grab your bath caddy and read a book or have a snack, or maybe you just want to close your eyes and concentrate on the feeling of the warm water on your skin. If you have a bathtub and you can take even 20 minutes to relax in the steam and soapy suds (bonus points if you’re able to do a face mask), do it. You will feel instantly more relaxed.

Read a Book or Binge a Show

food and drink on a tray and a laptop on a couch

Whether you like to get lost in a good book or binge watch a juicy show, allow yourself an hour away from your endless to-do list to give your brain a break and consume some mainstream entertainment….that’s what it’s there for, after all! Grab your couch cup holder tray, snuggle up in your favorite blanket, and give yourself the opportunity to just veg.

Meditate

meditating with candles and incense

Ah, meditation. Science tells us how important it is to practice mindfulness, but it’s one of those things that’s easier said than done. Sometimes sitting in stillness, even if it’s just for a minute, can feel impossibly difficult. You don’t need to whip out your meditation cushion and sit in silence for hours on end though. You can meditate in so many different ways: concentrating on the dishes you’re washing after dinner, feeling your footsteps on the ground and listening to the sounds of nature when you walk, being fully present in the shower in the morning. Meditation is about living in the moment. Take that philosophy and find a way to make it yours.

Move Your Body

crop sportswoman with fitness mat

Move and groove, baby! Another science-backed activity, exercise is super important and getting the blood flowing can do wonders for your body. It doesn’t have to be a long workout in a gym, and you don’t need any fancy equipment. Maybe you have an old jump rope or set of weights laying around. Maybe you do a few jumping jacks or squats in your kitchen or stretch out on your exercise mat. Maybe you walk to get your cup of coffee in the morning instead of driving. However you can incorporate a little extra movement into your day, it’s a great way to release endorphins and boost your mood!

Enjoy a Hobby You Love

three white twines on oval wicker basket

The great thing about having a hobby is, you don’t have to be good at it! That’s the whole point! You aren’t getting paid to do it perfectly, you don’t have to put your work on display in front of hundreds of people. You can do your hobby quietly and humbly and do it because you love it…not for any other reason. Whether you like to crochet, or paint, or garden, or make jewelry, or build with LEGOs, find a way to create. Bringing things to life is one of the most fulfilling activities you can do.

Use Affirmations/Practice Gratitude

photo of cup beside books

It may sound a little woo-woo, but seriously, speaking sweetly to yourself sets the tone for how you allow everyone else speak to you. We needs to be kind to ourselves, and affirmations are a great way to practice that. Perhaps you pick one that resonates and repeat it daily, or maybe you switch it up depending on your mood. It can be as short and simple as “I am worthy” or as complex as “I have all of the tools I need within me to handle the day ahead of me. I am capable and strong.” Find something that speaks to you and say it until you believe it. If you’re having trouble thinking of something, grab an affirmation deck (this uplifting one and this empowering one are great choices) and pull a daily card! Another way to manifest beauty in your life is by practicing gratitude. Being thankful for what you already have helps to cultivate more of that. Every day write down at least three things you’re grateful for. They can be big or small (I am grateful for this cup of coffee, I am grateful for the health of my family, I am grateful for new opportunities to learn and grow), but think of some things you appreciate and write them down every day. Then you can look back when you’re feeling a little down and remember all the things you are blessed with.

It’s the beginning of 2024, and for most of us that means we’re setting goals and making resolutions to start this year off right! If getting more organized is one of your goals for this year, having a few planning essentials can make all the difference! We’re all about staying on top of our schedules, and we’ve found some tried-and-true products that we go to time and time again to help keep us on track. See some of our favorite planning essentials below.

Kristy’s Essentials

My softbound Life Planners have been my go-to from Erin Condren lately – these are my MONTHLY planners. I had one last year and loved how easily it fit in my work tote with everything else I have. It’s slim and there’ are no binder rings – last year I had a vertical layout but this year I wanted to be more organized so I went with the hourly. It help keeps me on track throughout the day!

This little guy is my planner away from my planner. I pop it into my purse when I’m on the go so I can see if there are things I’m supposed to pick up or phone calls I’m supposed to make, etc. This is my DAILY planner and my lifeline when I’m running around all over the place!

I also have to use my WEEKLY calendar by the door – this helps me see things right as I’m leaving as an extra reminder (just in case). Whether it’s appointments or sports practices or school activities, this helps me see all the important things at a glance!

I cannot NOT have stickers…I use stickers for every occasion or event and reminder! Plus they help jazz up my planner and draw my attention to certain things I want to highlight!

Having some good writing tools is a must! I stock up on my favorite pens, markers, and highlighters so I never run out and I have plenty of options.

And to organize all of those accessories, this handy desk organizer! I love how it has spaces for writing tools, small pads or notebooks, and even my phone! It keeps the clutter away and looks pretty, too.

Faith’s Essentials

I’m a simple gal who appreciates a minimalistic life, and I certainly reflect that in my planning essentials. I love my planner from Happy Planner – I opt for the vertical layout which has a column for every day, separated into three different sections. I like to use one for work, one for personal to-dos, and one for play! I also love using the accompanying stickers to add a little flair and help break things up a little bit.

Another must-have for me is my budget planner!! This is something I started using a few years ago and it has seriously helped my finances SO much. When I’m planning a budget ahead of time and tracking every penny I spend, it helps me see where I can save some money, where I need to cut back on spending, and where I can allow myself to splurge a little. I also love my zip pouch, where I keep all my writing tools.
