Summer is still going strong, and linen styles are great for long days in the heat or for trips to the beach. This easy breezy fabric is lightweight and can be worn for just about any occasion. Gap has a bunch of pretty linen pieces that will take you from the end of summer into the beginning of fall. See linen styles from Gap below!
I was unsure about this dress at first, but I think it looks cuter in photos than I thought it would! This is a really nice fall teacher outfit paired with boots. I like the high ruffle neck and the lace details, and the puff sleeves and belted waist add some nice dimension. Wearing an XS.
This is another dress that gives me teacher vibes! It’s a pretty simple, classic look, but the tiered skirt and belt (which I tied into a bow in the back) give it some extra spice! Wearing an XS.
Take me to the beach! This sage green tunic top styled with these wide leg pants is a breezy look that’s perfect for those cooler end-of-summer days on the water. Wearing an XS top and 00 bottoms.
Take your tunic top and pair it with these elastic waistband shorts for a day on the town! You can leave it down and untucked, but I like it tied up for more a chic look. Wearing an XS shirt and XS bottoms.
These sage green tie-waisted shorts are so comfy! Pair them with this black high neck tank for a casual summer look and throw on this boyfriend-style button up when it gets chilly at night! Wearing an XS tank, XS top, and XXS shorts.
I love a good blazer look, and this linen blend one paired with wide leg trousers is a super stylish way to rock a workwear look! While I would recommend this more for a night out with the girls rather than the office, it’s still just the right amount of classy. Wearing an XS blazer and 00 pants.
This is such a good vacation dress! The fun pattern is toned down with neutral colors but still gives it enough personality that you could rock this for date night on the beach or dinner with the fam. Wearing an XXS.
This dress looked so cute on the hanger and I wanted to love it, I really did, but it did NOT do me any favors once it was on. The sleeves were way too big, there was too much extra fabric around the middle, and the plain collar made it feel very stuffy and formal to me. Wearing an XS.

There’s a few more weeks of summer here and then it’s back to school, and that means shopping for new school supplies, clothes and shoes! Target has a great selection of trendy styles for the kids to choose from this year and a lot of great clothing deals going on too for end of summer! See kids’ styles from Target below.
I love the Cat & Jack brand and luckily my kids haven’t complained at all either, so that’s a win-win for me! There is always a great selection to choose from whether it’s their clothing or footwear! Even though we’re shopping for school, they still have great deals on summer sandals and slip-ons. My girls especially will try to wear their sandals and open-toed footwear as long as possible…like, until it snows!
This toddler boys end-of-summer gear is so cute! I prefer simplicity over graphics and patterns, so the henley t-shirt and pull-on shorts for my son are right up my alley, and those shoes are so stinking cute! They are good for play and all things toddler.
For the older boys, there is a new selection of styles to choose from. If you haven’t seen the quick dry cargo shorts, they have a flexible drawstring and are lightweight and soft. All in Motion has a great selection including graphic tees, athletic wear and jackets. The new woven shirts give me island vibes and now I have Kokomo on the brain!
The nice thing about these shirts is that they transition from summer to fall nicely, as September is still mostly warm here, so the short-sleeved styles work with almost all types of bottoms. The longer sleeved shirts are still light enough and work well with a nice pair of jeans, jeggings, or leggings.
Cat & Jack leggings are the best! They have the best prints and I particularly love the durable knee. The leggings hold up so well that I personally am able to recycle them through all three of my daughters! I usually always have to remind my husband when back-to-school shopping that we are getting good bang for our buck since they get triple the wear!
My girls are definitely girly girls and if they could wear dresses or skirts every day, they most definitely would. I love the style of dresses and skirts at Target – they are so trendy and often give the opportunity to layer and accessorize depending on the season. The perfect first-day-of-school outfit or opportunity for a sharp fall picture day look!
Sequins! My middle daughter has a couple of the sequin tees and she really enjoys wearing and showing them off. There are the sequin flip tees for back to school, and the flip tank tops to finish out the summer in. Either way they are a win-win with all of the patterns and colors. TBH they actually hold up better than I originally thought they would, as the quality is durable going through wear and tear and the washer.

There’s something about a dress or jumpsuit in the summer that just feels so right. Maybe it’s the fact that these pieces are stylish yet simple, and they really allow you to showcase your personality! Short, long, patterned, or plain, a fun dress or jumpsuit can really make you feel like a million bucks! Francesca’s has so many summer styles, and Faith tried a few on to give us her honest reviews. See summer styles from Francesca’s below!
This navy maxi dress is gorgeous! I love the lace details on the top, and the long, flowy skirt offers a really nice contrast to the slightly more provocative top. The double strap also gives a little more support.
This light blue mini dress is also a hit! It’s form-fitting without being overly tight, and the square neck with thick straps is flattering on all body types!
This mint green wrap dress gave me mixed feelings. I really liked the color, and I love a wrap dress because they are very forgiving, but this was just a little too ruffly for me. Also, if you untie that tie, there is absolutely nothing holding that dress together – so be very careful!
This green floral romper is another one that I was undecided on. I love that it’s a romper that looks like a dress, and it has so many pretty details. I think the ruching plus the puff sleeves plus the crisscrosses just felt like a little too much going on up top, for me personally.
This white floral dress is definitely a sweet summer vibe. It’s flirty and delicate, and even though it’s not really my preferred style, I did think this was a cute option. The top is on the bigger side, so this is good for those with a larger chest!
I loved this mustard jumpsuit. It gives off an understated elegance and I really like the simplicity of it. It has a bow tie on the back that also adds a touch of extra style…plus it has pockets!
This black ruffle dress gives me total tea party vibes. While the colors are muted, the pattern makes it more eye-catching!
I’m obsessed with this dark green midi dress – it looks so classy and sleek! The fabric was super soft too. I felt like I could wear this forever, and the belt ties into a bow in the back for a bit of surprise!
I actually really liked this black floral maxi dress once I put it on. I’m not huge on patterns but the asymmetrical hemline, off-the-shoulder sleeves, and stretchy smocked top really won me over!
This pink jumpsuit is a chic option for a summer work event! I love the blazer-style collar and the belted waist, plus, again…pockets. It did fit a little big, and fair warning – there are a lot of buttons, zippers, and snaps to keep this all together, so don’t wear it anywhere you have to be quick when using the restroom.

It is seriously summertime with this heatwave and we’re over here dreaming of the pool, the beach, the lake…any body of water that will cool us down, really. And everyone knows a day of swimming and sunning calls for a cute swimsuit! Target has tons of adorable and affordable bathing suits in lots of different styles! Faith hit the store to try on a few…all pieces are true to size – she’s wearing a small! See her Target swimwear roundup below.
This was my absolute favorite bathing suit! I’ve never really been a fan of one-pieces but this one is just darling! The fit is flattering for all body types and the side cutout with the ribbon on the shoulder gives this such a flirty vibe. Definitely a winner in my book!
I loved this bikini top – the keyhole cutout gives it a little extra flair and the back has a crisscross tie that makes it easy to tighten and adjust! I like the look of this ruffled bottom but it is definitely teeeeeny…I think it’s better for style than function. I’d be afraid of giving everyone a show if I was swimming in it.
This leopard-print bikini gives a more full-coverage look. The top is “sports bra” style and has a built-in shelf bra so everything feels really supported and secure. The high-waisted bottom also tucks away the tummy! And who doesn’t love a good animal print?!
When I tried this suit on I didn’t necessarily love it – I’m not sure why – but looking back, I actually like it more than I thought! The skirt part on the bottom has an adjustable tie so it can sit higher up on your tummy or lower around your waist, and the intricate details on the top bring some style to an otherwise basic piece. This look is perfect for a bride-to-be during her bachelorette party or even on a beach honeymoon!
Another one-piece that I really loved! The plunge v-neck and low back make this style sexier, but otherwise it’s a pretty full-coverage suit! The top part does feel a little small, so if you have a larger chest it might be a struggle to keep the girls locked and loaded.
I really loved this dark green bikini. The color and fit both made me feel like I could rock this anywhere and feel great!! The crisscross banded top and side ties on the bottom add a touch of chic to a classic style.
This light green bikini gives me retro vibes with the ruffled bralette top and the high-waisted bottoms! I love the lace-up details on the bottom. The top was a bit big on me, but this is definitely a great suit for someone who is larger on top!
Okay – this nude bikini gives me mixed feelings. I want to like the style of the top but it kind of squished everything down and took away some of my (very small) curves. I do really like the ruching detail, and you can’t see it in the photo but the straps tie at the shoulder to give pretty bows! The bottom is a classic tie bottom which is always a solid choice. Overall, I think the color washes me out (time to grab some self-tanner) but I think this could look really cute on someone with a nice summer tan.
Out of all the bathing suits I tried on, this one-piece was my least favorite. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it, it’s just a lot of pattern for me, and after finding the suit online, I realized I tied the top incorrectly…whoops. It could technically be worn either way but the way I’m wearing it, it felt too small towards the middle of my chest but left gaps in the fabric closer to my underarms. I do think it’s a unique silhouette though, and if you love all things floral you’d probably like this!
And another one that took me out of my comfort zone! I actually don’t hate the look of this one, however the top was just a tad large. I really like the underwire with the keyhole cutout though, and even though the bottom is low-rise, it felt very comfortable on. I think this one is a fun look for a tropical vacation!

It’s shorts season!! Shopping for shorts for the summer can be a painstaking process, and having a wide variety of styles to choose from can make it all even more difficult. We hit Old Navy to do a summer shorts try-on haul, because the prices are great and the options are aplenty! We found that most styles tend to run a little big, so if you’re in-between sizes, we do recommend sizing down. See summer shorts styles from Old Navy below.

Summer is time to set the piggy toes free and let them babies breathe…most of the year they are covered up by socks, closed-toed shoes, boots and more. I personally love to go barefoot as much as I can and so do my kids, but the hubby…not so much! I very much prefer summer footwear – flip flops, sandals – over everything else, and I like to keep it mostly simple with a touch of style so I’m here with my favorite summer footwear trends for you!
Cloud Slides – Is there anything more heavenly sounding than feeling like you’re walking on clouds?! There are many variations of these sandals, but nevertheless, they are supposed to relieve foot pain, discomfort and joint pain. Somehow they relax and decompress your feet with every step that you take. Waterproof, non-slip and non-blistering are other perks of these sandals. At first glance, I wasn’t impressed, but I have to say that they have grown on me and there are lots of colors to choose from.
Havaianas – I was once gifted a pair for my birthday and they are the only flip-flop type sandal that has stood the time test, and they are still around to this day! They appear to be thin, but you’ll feel a weight to them, and they are actually very nice to walk in, even for longer distances! The pair I still have are around 13 years old. They are a slimmer sandal and I do have more of a wide fit, especially after four kids, but I still highly recommend them!
Wedge Heel/Sandal – I have always been a wedge heel kinda gal – at 5’3″ a little extra height is nice, especially for date nights with my 6’4″ hubby! They are a more comfortable option in the footwear realm. You can have a nice mix of casual cork heel and dressy with a mule heel, plus you can choose from backless or strapped options.
Gladiator Sandal – There are so many variations of this mostly flat sandal, and I have been a fan of them for years! These pair nicely with a romper, summer dress for a dressy look, or classic shorts/shirt combo for a more casual look.
Square-Toed Heel – Heels are pretty universal and can be worn during most seasons. Round/almond/pointed toes used to be all the rage, but now the square-toed heel is what’s in. Instead of all of the tootsies being squished together, they can breathe, and this sandal gives a more uniform look so you can really show off that polished pedicure! I love the way the square toe gives dimension and an overall fresh look to an outfit.
Birkenstock Sandals – Birks are comfortable with their cork bottoms, and they’re an easy slip-on sandal to run errands, head to the park with the kids, or enjoy casual day dates or vacation spots. There are waterproof ones, oiled leather, suede, strapped and thong styles.
So what are you waiting for?? Make that pedi appointment and show off those summer footwear looks!
